Deregulation would mean that consumers will become free to choose their electricity and gas retailer, and be able to deal with the one retailer for both electricity and gas services. The University of Queensland (UQ) and First Solar have started a joint venture to construct a solar farm at Gatton that will have 155 megawatt capacity. The plant will start generating electricity at the end of 2014.
