A new report released last week ranked Australia as one of the top destinations for jobseekers. We weren’t surprised - even a little bit.
The
Global Professionals on the Move 2012 report from recruiting firm Hydrogen Group surveyed 2353 professionals from 85 different countries during November 2011. Two key factors contributed to Australia’s appeal.
- Our standard of living and quality of life – They don’t call us ‘The Lucky Country’ for nothing. With a stable economy, safe communities, abundant seaside living, great weather, and modern cities, Australia is an attractive choice. Read our blog post about the UN study that reached the same conclusion.
- The resources boom – With a record number of projects in the resource industry – both mining and oil and gas – Australia is experiencing an unprecedented demand for skilled workers. With so many economies around the world in strife, anyone with experience in engineering, geology, and metallurgy can look to Australia for employment. In the very short term, openings for construction jobs are going to explode with everything from concreters to fitters and turners in high demand.
If you’re a person with a sense of adventure, want to advance your career with international training or suffer from wanderlust, Australia is a great destination for both work and lifestyle choices. If you’ve ever considered a move, why not give The Lucky Country a look in?
