The miningoilandgasjobs.com coal spokesperson Laura Gibson has welcomed the news that the Premier of New South Wales Mike Baird is undertaking an extensive tour of the Hunter Valley region with a view to examining the various projects underway in that area.
Laura Gibson said that the Premier has made specific reference to visiting the Drayton South project run by Anglo American and the Mt Thorley Warkworth operation which is owned by Rio Tinto
One important aspect that the Premier will be considering is the various projects’ future viability to ensure as far as possible not only the continuation of existing jobs in the region but the potential for expansion of existing and new projects to create further jobs in the Hunter Valley.
Laura Gibson said that AMMA miningoilandgasjobs.com, the peak industry body Job Board, was highly supportive of the positive moves by the NSW Premier. There have been a number of indications from the NSW government that the Hunter Valley region and the improvement in its employment in that area are high on the government’s agenda, she said. Support for the current consideration of planned expansion in the region is essential for new and existing jobs
