Engineering

Example 1:

Quality Engineer


Reporting to the site Safety & Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will support the business unit (base, engine or component maintenance) to continuously reduce product safety risks, maintenance error and cost of quality. These will be achieved through continuous quality and airworthiness oversight, facilitating the development of documented standards and procedures, conducting scheduled and unscheduled audits, perform investigations on occurrences, facilitate root cause and corrective action and measuring quality & safety performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Measurement of safety and quality performance through scheduled quality auditing.
  • Perform quality oversight and monitoring of production activities, including active participation in production meetings, spot audits and sampling of completed aircraft maintenance documents.
  • Support quality improvement by facilitating Root Cause Corrective Action, conducting OJT / coaching and facilitating and/or guiding investigations on quality escapes or internal occurrences.
  • Facilitate the development (or revision) and deployment of standard operating procedures, policies and processes.
  • Provide production support to the operation on matters related to regulatory compliance or quality by providing guidance, disseminating safety and quality information and facilitating and/or delivering safety & quality awareness sessions to production or logistics employees.
  • Play a key role in CHC’s ability to set the standard for safety, helping to maintain our position as world leader.

We are currently looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer - contract - to join our London based project:

Responsibilities include:

FEED and detailed engineering phases, requiring firsthand experience of following:
  • Design calculations for electrical system such as fault level, voltage drop, equipment sizing, lighting, earthing, cable sizing
  • Development of load lists, equipment list
  • Development of electrical power distribution concepts, SLD, schematic diagrams

Geosciences

Example 1:

Geologist III (Basin Analysis)

Duties:

  • Use geological and geophysical knowledge to construct regional stratigraphic, structural, and depositional frameworks across the company’s operating regions.
  • Work closely with reservoir engineering and petrophysical counterparts to develop integrated interpretations, identify emerging trends, and evaluate potential new plays.
  • Construct basin-scale cross-sections and play maps illustrating depositional environment and play types for each formation of interest.
  • Regularly present studies to geological/engineering teams in regions as well as to senior management.
     
Example 2:

Geotechnical Design Engineer


The Geotechnical Design Engineer position (level 2 and 3) is responsible to complete engineering assignments in support of Kiewit Construction Companies business. This will require strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock engineering, and geotechnical design as associated with heavy civil construction. The Geotechnical Design Engineer will work on an interdisciplinary team including structural engineers, roadway engineers, estimators, schedulers and construction experts to perform engineering analysis and design in support of design-build pursuits and projects. This position will be responsible to produce engineering reports and detailed calculation packages summarizing each engineering assessment. This position requires travel to project offices and work sites and periodic field assignments.

Metallurgy


Example 1:

Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, you will be working closely with the production teams to provide technical input around plant related challenges such as crushing and screening equipment operations. You will also be responsible for evaluating product quality with non-conformance, investigating and escalating appropriately.

As the Metallurgist, your key responsibilities will include:
 

  • Checking and reporting the product quality on a day to day basis
  • Providing technical support to production crews in understanding plant performance
  • Identifying and delivering improvement initiatives in the activities such as removing bottlenecks, reducing cost and increasing capacity and process stability
  • Liaising with engineering and maintenance teams to complete projects
  • Identifying improvement and cost saving initiatives in the operation of lump rescreening plants in order to meet customer specifications
  • Analysing production data to ensure that plant capacity is optimized and production targets are met
  • Preparing production reports as required

Complying with company’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and systems.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant Degree in Chemical Engineering, Processing Engineering or Extractive Metallurgy along with extensive experience of working in plant.

Example 2:

Working from our Brisbane Office, your main responsibility will be to provide technical metallurgical planning expertise to develop and communicate long term strategy, as well as mid to short term tactical scenarios to support the mine planning and ore reserve estimation process.

Reporting to the Manager- Province and Technical Planning, this role is primarily Lihir focussed with contributions to other Newcrest sites, studies and projects as required.

Your key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following –
 

  • Support the development of the ore processing component of the planning cycle by providing inputs, including the maintenance and the review of model outputs.
  • Carry out the ore processing component of studies through delivering best practice technical input and review
  • Evaluating processes to identify opportunities for business improvement and standardisation;
  • Ensure compliance with Safety and environmental Management systems, policies and procedures;
  • As required monitor, control and report on the mine planning operational performance
  • Prioritise and manage own workload; and build own capability in current and future roles including undertaking appropriate development opportunities.

 

Management(On-Site)/Mine Managers

Example 1:

Construction Manager

 

  • Responsible for ensuring the construction requirements are accurately quantified and set into the project planning and cost control system.
  • Ensures that the clients' construction requirements are being delivered in time by interfacing with the engineering and procurement team.
  • Must ensure effective management of contractors and suppliers site services representatives at all times
  • Must ensure that the construction staff are included in engineering reviews and constructability activities.
  • Responsible for managing construction quality records. Records must be compiled and collated in a progressive manner and that they are retained for easy access.
  • Monitoring and appraising construction work for conformance with engineering’ drawings, Design Specifications, Owner’s standards, Contract Coordination Procedures and applicable codes.

Reporting to the Manager Maintenance, you will be accountable for leading the field maintenance team to deliver availability and reliability objectives for the field equipment fleet including draglines, shovels, drills and hydraulic excavators.

Manager, Business Analysis


Reporting to the Director, Copper Finance, Manager, Business Analysis position will be responsible for planning, budgeting, capital and risk management for the Global Copper Business Unit. Working in close collaboration with local mine sites and Barrick technical teams this person will have a strong background in estimation, planning, cost control and AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) management.

Responsibilities include:
  • Consolidate budget, forecast and LOM submissions; develop and prepare reports to enhance performance measurement
  • Prepare required planning documents and presentations for corporate submission
  • Critically review site AFE’s and AFE registers for quality assurance
  • Act as AFE Administrator for the unit and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained on a timely basis

The role of Financial Planning & Analysis Manager - Merchant Operations will provide leadership of the financial planning & analysis function for AGL's Merchant Operations business unit. Example 1:

Entry Level Design Engineer KOS


Support both administrative and design engineering activities as assigned by supervisor. Generally, this position performs structural, mechanical and civil engineering design work including product review and analyzes of sketches.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts
  • Compute angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radius, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes

Security Analytst


As the PCI DSS Security Analyst within our ISG business unit, you will be responsible for ensuring that AGL meets its information technology compliance obligations, including PCI-DSS, ISO 27000 and relevant legislation. You will need to establish strong relationships across all business units and with vendors to monitor the AGL environment on a daily basis. The Shot-firer reports directly to the D&B Supervisor and is responsible for the safe and efficient implementation of blasting practices to achieve project production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe, use, storage, security, transport and handling of explosives on the project site in accordance with all statutory and company procedural requirements.
  • Ensure all shot-crew personnel comply with all statutory and company procedural requirement.
  • Ensure all blasting practices conform to relevant Australian Mining, OH&S and Explosives & Dangerous Goods Legislation.
  • Ensure magazine records are accurately maintained to required standards and sufficient explosive stock is maintained so as not to adversely impact on production requirements.

  • Ensure housekeeping in magazines, magazine compound, explosive vehicles and work areas is maintained to a high level.
  • Ensure that blasting specifications and quality requirements are met.

Drivers

Example 1:

Truck Driver


A rewarding opportunity exists for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Driver to join our marine construction team working on the Ichthys Project onshore LNG facilities based near Darwin.

As well as looking to employ local Darwin residents, BAM Clough will also provide the opportunity for FIFO work from points throughout Australia.

Experience in heavy Roadtrain operation (up to 250 tonnes) and side tipping experience is preferred and whilst not essential, loader operation (WA600) experience is favourable. A current MC licence is required for these positions.

Surveying

Example 1:

Mine Surveyor


Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate survey data and records so that operational, planning and other business functions have confidence in design layout and the 3D spatial information generated by the teams survey pickups.

As the Mine Surveyor, your key responsibilities include:
 

  • Undertaking essential front line production stakeout of designs and mining controls
  • Monitoring measurements to ensure that program schedules are met on time
  • Providing site support for the machine guidance system and machinery calibrations
  • Prioritising and scheduling of work tasks
  • Liaising with Production and Technical Services personnel to plan, prepare and complete daily field surveys
  • Undertaking preliminary analysis of prism monitoring data and communicating results to the Senior Mine Surveyor
  • Attending production meetings and maintaining minimum levels of survey consumables stock.

Example 2:

Exploration Surveyor


The Exploration Department has a vacancy for a permanent Exploration Surveyor at the Huntly Mine site. This is a staff role on a 10.3 shift roster. The incumbent will be based at the McCoy Crusher site however, will also be required to carry out survey tasks at the Willowdale mining areas.

Exploration surveying occurs in Alcoa's mining lease 1MSA working in forested areas around Huntly and Willowdale mines. Exploration surveyors are principally accountable for all aspects related to the accurate positioning of drilling grids. Although the surveying fieldwork is the major part of the job, there is a data management component to the job where the Surveyor is accountable for the management of all survey data and data bases, survey calculations, accuracy checks and instrument calibration.
 

Health & Safety

Example 1:

HSSE Advisor

UGL is offering a HSSE Advisor position to be based in Darwin. You will be working on a number of HV substation projects and also coordinate and assist HS&E activities, promote workplace safety and environmental awareness across the site(s).

Specifically the HSE Advisor will be responsible for compliance to UGL and statutory requirements for occupational health and safety and conflict resolution, environment, rehabilitation, workers compensation, claims management as well as education and training as appropriate to facilitate achievement of UGL HSE Policy objectives and performance targets.

Key tasks and responsibilities however not limited to:
 

  • Participate in the review, implementation and monitoring of systems and practices to ensure objectives and targets are met and continued compliance with all State and Federal legislation in relation to business dealings, work safety and environment
  • Providing advice and support to the project site management and supervision for the implementation and auditing of the Safety, Health and Environment Management Plans

Industrial Hygiene

Reporting to the OHS Superintendent, the Industrial Hygiene Technician will assist the Senior OHS Advisor and OHS Superintendent in the completion of industrial hygiene anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of physical and chemical hazards at Granny Smith mine site. This position is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  • Carry out routine exposure monitoring for particulates, gas/vapour, and physical hazards in all environments and other working areas on daily basis or as directed.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and operate field and laboratory instruments designed to evaluate employee exposures to physical and chemical hazards.
  • Observe the monitoring of employees and take notes to identify potential industrial hygiene issues;
  • Properly prepare and ship samples to the laboratory for analysis.
  • Review reports, historical data, industrial hygiene sampling data, and analytical results and prepare written reports of exposure details to the OHS Superintendent or Senior OHS Advisor.
  • Anticipate, recognise, evaluate, and control physical and chemical hazards in the workplace.
  • Perform data entry into MedGate database.
  • Assist the OHS Superintendent or Senior OHS Advisor in the management of the Site Health and Hygiene System.
  • Comply with and undertake additional / alternative responsibilities as reasonably requested by their Supervisor.

 

Environment

Example 1:

Environmental Engineer


Responsibilities include: The successful candidate must support the ISO 14001/Environmental Management System; understand environmental media programs (waste, water, land and air) and associated permitting/compliance/reporting related to active mining operations, as well as, mine site reclamation and closure activites; interact with stakeholders and regluatory agancies; assist with corporate standards management and tracking; participate in and provide support involving internal and external auditing activities.

Example 2:

HSSE Advisor

Estimating

Example 1:

General Project Estimator

General description includes handling, managing and leading medium and small estimates with minimal supervision or larger estimates while under the supervision and guidance of the estimating manager. He reports functionally to the estimating manager.

A General Project Estimator should have the capability to perform most discipline estimates. He knows how to generate a complete estimate from basic takeoffs through final cost (all materials, fabrication, subcontracts, construction, localization and indirects) for all work required for a project and take responsibility for the complete cost estimate. He must be capable to organize and plan the estimating effort, including leading and guiding the discipline estimators. He should also be capable of not only performing detailed takeoffs, but also developing conceptual or budget estimates.

Reporting to the GM Project Services, this leadership role is responsible for both the quality benchmarking of estimates and the management and development of the team. Welding Inspector

UGL have an urgent requirement for a suitably experienced Welding Inspector for a large EPC Power Generation Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

This is a fixed term FIFO position for an approximate duration of 3-4 months.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and carry out inspections of activities as required by the ITP’s;
  • Provide technical (quality) support to the manufacturing and construction teams;
  • Monitor the completion of Quality Records associated with assigned Work Packs;
  • Review assigned technical documentation and ensure correct specifications and drawings etc are included/referred to in Work Packs and Requisitions;

  • Review the calibration status of any test equipment being utilized on the project ensuring the equipment is within calibration prior to use.
